Bernice Citterman, age 81, of Ivanhoe passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30a.m. on Friday, July 20th at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno with Father Ron Huberty as celebrant. Visitation will be from 4 to 6p.m. on Thursday, July 19th at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and the rosary to follow. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the St. John Cantius Catholic Church Cemetery, Wilno, MN.
Bernice Citterman was born on August 4, 1930 near Canby, Minnesota to parents John and Mary (Lacek) Troska. She graduated from Canby High School.
Bernice was united in marriage to Ambrose Citterman on October 29, 1952 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. To this union they were blessed with nine children whom they raised on the farm in Royal Township.
She was a member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church. She enjoyed milking cows, gardening, canning and her cats and dogs. She enjoyed spending time and caring for her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed old time music and dancing with her husband.
Bernice is lovingly remembered by her eight children: Linda Citterman of Worthington, MN; Corinne (Leeroy) Johnson of Worthington, MN; Larry Citterman of Ivanhoe, MN; Gary Citterman (special friend, Gracie) of Worthington, MN; Randy Citterman of Minneota, MN; Jeffrey Citterman of Ivanhoe, MN; Jesse Citterman (special friend, Dori Meierding) of Taunton, MN; and Joseph Citterman of Ivanhoe, MN; five grandchildren: Jamie Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD; Jeremy Johnson of Worthington, MN; Brent Citterman of Minneota, MN; Kyle Citterman of Taunton, MN; Braedon Citterman of Minneota, MN; one sister, Leona Troska of Canby and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Troska; her husband Ambrose in 2009; one son Virgil in 1987 and two brothers, John and Jim Troska.
