Michele Marie Chappuis

After a battle with leukemia, Michele Chappuis, age 57, of Canby, MN passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Antelope Hills Christian Church with Pastor Steve Maas as officiant. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 27 at Birk Funeral Home in Canby with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Antelope Hills Cemetery, Rural Canby.

Michele Marie Maynard was born February 8, 1955 to Meredith and Betty (Wager) Maynard in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm north of Canby and graduated from Canby High School in 1973. She went to Rochester Community College for her RN degree.

On July 26, 1975 she married Greg Chappuis at Antelope Hills Christian Church. After their marriage, they lived in Chicago and then moved back to Canby in 1979. She worked at REM as an RN and then began work with Minnesota Department of Health and worked there for 25 years.

Michele was a lifelong member of Antelope Hills Christian Church. She had a passion for the Lord and Israel. She enjoyed flowers, attending auctions, cooking, baking and had a love for music. Most importantly she enjoyed her grandsons and spending time with them and her family. She will be greatly missed by all.

Grateful for having shared in Michele’s life: her husband, Greg Chappuis of Canby; three children, Nicole (Steve Johnson) Chappuis of Baxter, MN, Zach (Amanda Ostlie) Chappuis of Canby, MN, Amelia (Brian Moravetz) Chappuis of Watertown, SD; four grandsons, Isaac, Isaiah, Dawson, and Drake; mother, Betty Maynard; siblings, Bryon Maynard, Lynette (William) Taylor, Carla (Steve) Henningsgaard, Matthew (Tricia) Maynard, and Phillip Maynard; sister-in-law, Barbara (Calvin) Roff; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Meredith Maynard; infant brother, Marshall; maternal and paternal grandparents.
