Larry Bednar, age 61, of Marshall, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Divine Home, Rural Marshall, MN.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Canby City Cemetery.
Larry Edward Bednar was born October 17, 1950 to Alvin and Iola (Chizek) Bednar in Canby, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Canby. He graduated from Canby High School in 1968, where he was active in Cross Country and Wrestling. After high school, he worked for his dad in the tiling business.
Larry loved to cook, bake, garden, and canned all the produce. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved people. He worked construction for years, along with many other jobs, Burr elevator, Kockelman Construction, Denny’s Welding, Oscar Jeppesen Cement Plant, McLaughlin & Schultz and Husby & Chaplin.
Larry is survived by his daughter Leslie (Bryce) Gens of Chandler, MN and grandchildren, Gabriel and Eli; son, AJ Bednar of Brookings, SD; mother, Iola Bednar of Canby, MN; sister, Sue (LeRoy) Jelen and family of Garfield, MN; brother, Randy (Barb) Bednar and family of Waverly, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin “Hank” Bednar.
