Celine Mamer, age 80, of Bemidji, formerly of St. Leo, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St. Leo Catholic Church with Father Craig Timmerman as the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at Birk Funeral Home in Canby with a prayer service at 7 pm and a rosary to follow. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to mass. Inurnment will be in the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.
Celine Ann Mamer was born October 12, 1931 in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, the daughter of William & Cecelia (Weber) Kack. She was baptized, confirmed and received her First Communion at St. Leo Catholic Church. In 1950, she graduated from Canby High School. On November 24, 1954, Celine married Michael Mamer at St. Leo Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple lived and raised their family in St. Leo. She was a hardworking wife and devoted mother to her family.
Celine was a lifelong member of St. Leo Catholic Church. Also she participated in the St. Leo American Legion Auxiliary, Christian Women’s Club and the Catholic Aid Association. Her hobbies were crocheting, embroidering, going for walks, playing cards and truly loved visiting with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Janel Mamer (Roy Leidahl) of Monroe Center, IL, Jim Mamer of Sebeka, MN, Jodi (Mike) Lundberg of Bemidji, MN; five grandchildren, Lauren Leidahl; Andy, William, Levi, and Katie Lundberg; siblings, Bernice (Lawrence) Antony of Marshall, Laverne (Alice) Kack of Canby, Irene (Delmar) of St. Leo, LeRoy (Audrey) Kack of St. Leo, Roger Kack of Lafayette, CO, Agnes (Ray) Kloos of Amarillo, TX, Rita (Gene) Streff of Canby and Joyce (Joe) Beckerman of Melrose, MN and many nieces & nephews.
Celine was preceded in death by her parents, William & Cecelia; husband, Michael; two brothers, Alvin & Urban.
